Job Summary: To assist the head coach with all aspects of Hanover College's D-III baseball program including recruiting.  Implements and demonstrates a competitive skill and spirit.  Represents Hanover College within the membership of a conference and the governing body of the NCAA.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the head coach in all aspects of the baseball program, including but not limited to, on and off campus student-athlete recruitment, scheduling of season and practice times, and implementing practices for student-athletes.
  • Provide customer service to student-athletes, faculty and administration, parents, fans, visitors, community, and media.
  • Assist head coach with game and practice preparation, team travel arrangements, maintaining safe and adequate equipment, attending conference coaches' meetings, and knowing and abiding by conference guidelines and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Assist head coach in initiating changes that will improve the quality of the program and the experience of the student-athlete.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform general duties to ensure the quality, safety, and the development of the program and the experience of the student-athlete.
  • Promote a positive image of Hanover College and represent the College in accordance with the College's mission, principles, and strategic plan.
  • Support and advocate for the College's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, goals, and mission.
  • Complete duties as assigned by head coach.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Athletics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Previous pitching or catching knowledge and experience preferred
  • Playing experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and computer skills required
