Job Summary: Assists the Head Trainer in the general health management and care of varsity athletes including scheduling, supervising, and mentoring of student staff; management of medical records, oversees inventory, purchases supplies, and provides game and practice coverage and rehabilitation.

Essential Functions:

1. Provides practice and game coverage for designated athletic teams.

2. Provides customer service to student-athletes with taping, wrapping, evaluation of injuries, rehabilitation of injuries, counseling, and proper medical referral.

3. Responsible for educating student-athletes in the prevention of athletic injuries.

4. Works with the head athletic trainer to file insurance claims information.

5. Oversees the preparation of athletic training for practices and games

6. Initiates changes in the policies of the training rooms.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Performs general duties of ordering medical equipment for student-athletes and training room and any other duties as assigned by the VP &Athletic Director, and/or the President.

2. Maintains records for insurance and athletic injuries and treatments.

3. May be asked to drive vehicles carrying students. Must have a valid driver's license.

4. Based on qualifications, may be asked to teach a class.

Job Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred NATA certification required.

Experience: Prior collegiate experience needed to be familiar with collegiate rules.

Skills required: State license or eligible, continuing education, critical thinking, injury evaluation and rehabilitation, level-headedness, flexibility, CPR & AED certified, instructor level desired.
