Hanover College is seeking an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, beginning in August 2020.

Hanover College launched its Engineering program in the fall of 2018 and offers both a BS in Engineering and a BA in Engineering Science. While both degrees are multi-disciplinary, our students have the option to concentrate in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering. This new program enables students to earn an engineering degree within the environment of a small college committed to providing excellent professional programs and a strong liberal arts experience. Our goal is to produce graduates who have the combination of technical and soft skills sought by today's employers. With this in mind, the College is seeking a new faculty member who has a passion for teaching engineering at the undergraduate level and is excited by the opportunity to play a fundamental role in the development of a new undergraduate engineering program. The position will be full-time and initially for a one- or two-year contract with the possibility of renewal contingent on performance.

Minimum qualifications include an MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering. The successful applicant will be comfortable teaching a wide variety of undergraduate electrical engineering courses as well as some general engineering courses and laboratories. Preference will be given toward applicants with prior experience teaching, applicants who have a degree from or experience with a liberal arts college, and applicants with industry experience.

Interested candidates should be committed to teaching at an institution where the liberal arts are emphasized and are prepared to develop research opportunities suitable for collaboration with undergraduate engineering majors.

Hanover College is located on a beautiful, 600-acre campus overlooking the Ohio River in southern Indiana 45 miles from Louisville, KY. It is adjacent to picturesque and historic Madison, Indiana, a city of 12,000 that was recently named the top place in Indiana to raise a family. It is also home to a group of manufacturing companies that are eager to engage with and support our engineering program.

Applications received by December 15, 2019 will be assured of consideration; however, all applications will be considered until the position is filled. Electronic applications should be addressed to Dr. Jeffrey Phillips, Chair, Engineering Search and include: application letter, vita, statements of teaching and research interest, evidence of teaching effectiveness, transcripts, and three reference letters. Applicants should also include a teaching philosophy statement that includes your thoughts on what an ideal undergraduate engineering program should offer. To apply and upload documents, visit https://hanover.hirecentric.com/jobsearch/  Reference letters sent under separate cover may be emailed to facultysearch@hanover.edu
