Hanover College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computer Science and Engineering, at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are looking for candidates with systems expertise and a passion for teaching at the undergraduate level. The appointment will begin September 2020.
Successful candidates will be able to teach existing systems courses (Systems Fundamentals, Computer Networks, Operating Systems) as well as new courses in systems areas not currently covered, such as security, parallel and distributed computing, or cloud computing. They are also expected to teach select computer engineering courses, specifically Computer Systems Architecture, Embedded Microcomputer Systems, and Digital Systems. The 3-3-1 annual teaching schedule includes a range of core and elective CS courses and 1 or 2 Computer Engineering courses per year. Ph.D. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering strongly preferred, but related areas will also be considered.
You will be joining a tight-knit group of dedicated educators who collaborate closely, frequently team-teach, and enjoy experimenting with active-learning techniques.
Minimum qualifications include the following: Ph.D. by time of appointment; evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness at the undergraduate level; ability to advise and mentor students; active participation in scholarly interests; and ability to embrace the liberal arts mission of the College.
